Dear friend,
Remember when we talked about limiting beliefs last week? It's fascinating, isn't it? I bet you've started noticing some of your own, and how they sneakily affect your daily life. It's like there's a whole other world of thoughts operating beneath the surface of our minds, steering our actions without us even realizing it!
Take this for example: Ever catch yourself thinking you're too old for something? Or maybe too young? Too anything? These thoughts might be holding you back without you even knowing it! But guess what? We have the power to change that.
We can examine our beliefs and decide if they're worth keeping or if they need to be changed.
DO THIS...
Here's a fun challenge for you: Next time you catch yourself thinking something negative that's holding you back, (a.k.a. a limiting belief) gather three pieces of evidence to support it. Sounds tricky, right? That's because most of these limiting beliefs are just myths!
Spoiler alert: You won't find much evidence because most of them are ideas we've made up!
THINK THIS...
Are your limiting beliefs serving you? Helping you? Supporting you or hindering you? You can even journal about each one that pops into your head and analyze it!
Our limiting beliefs might have once served a purpose, and their source is actually based on instinct. In order to survive we have to constantly be on the look out for threats.
Take for example our ancestors. Based on how challenging daily life was, they might have had reasons to be a bit pessimistic, but in the modern age we don't need that mindset anymore. We can choose to focus on the good stuff, on what's working, and how awesome our lives truly are.
So, as you go about your week, I challenge you to shift your mindset. Think about all the things that are going right, all the possibilities ahead of you, and just how amazing your life is. Trust me, it's a game-changer!
